STERIS announces new x-ray processing facility in germany

• Supports medical device manufacturing with additional radiation processing capacity
• Complements existing E-beam, gamma, and testing services offered in Germany

As part of our long-term commitment to supporting medical device manufacturing, STERIS previously announced plans to construct a new X-ray radiation processing facility in Germany. We are pleased to confirm the location of the facility will be in Hochstadt, Germany.

Earlier this year, we also announced plans for the construction of a new testing facility in Leipzig, Germany. This new location will offer packaging testing services, including accelerated and real-time aging, transportation, and integrity testing, and microbiological testing capacity in partnership with the existing laboratory in Radeberg. The expansion of radiation processing and testing services in Germany furthers our commitment of ensuring patient safety through a technology-neutral service offering that includes sterilization and laboratory testing options, now and well into the future. In addition to the new facilities in Hochstadt and Leipzig, we support medical device manufacturing in Germany through our existing, electron beam services in Bitterfeld, gamma processing in Allershausen, and electron beam, gamma irradiation, and testing services in Radeberg.

Increased demand in medical device manufacturing has accelerated our plans for global expansion. The addition of radiation processing and testing services throughout our global network allows us to support Customers with both routine services and processing redundancy.
