STERIS announces expansion of libertyville south, illinois facility to include x-ray processing

As part of our long-term commitment to supporting medical device manufacturing, STERIS is pleased to announce the expansion of its existing Libertyville South, Illinois, USA gamma processing facility to include X-ray radiation technology. The new X-ray operations will be located at the same facility that houses the Radiation Technology Center, which is also expanding to include testing services to support X-ray, electron beam and gamma radiation technologies.

The expansion of the Libertyville South facility furthers our commitment of ensuring patient safety through a technology-neutral service offering that includes radiation and gas processing options, now and well into the future. In addition to the Libertyville South location, we support medical device manufacturing in the midwest United States through gamma and ethylene oxide sterilization services at our Libertyville North, Illinois and Minneapolis, Minnesota facilities, respectively. In addition, we provide validation support and laboratory testing services through our laboratories in Libertyville and Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Increased demand in medical device manufacturing has accelerated our plans for global expansion. The addition of radiation-processing options throughout our global network allows us to support Customers with both routine services and processing redundancy.
